I've seen links to creation a few times before on this thread but never gave it much thought. It might be best to order it from them. I expect about 60 euro's of extra costs for importing it (custom fees, taxes etc) so I have to take that into my calculation. I really hope to order it soon, but last night I got a phone call that someone is giving me a kitchen so I have to get a plumber, etc etc etc, to get that all in there. Just bought the house and the kitchen is 61 years old, just like the house itself.

I've ordered from Creation 2 or 3 times and it's been delivered to the UK within a few days with no additional import fees (although there's always a risk that it will get caught up).

Shipped as a Japanese Measuring Device, in my recent order, which I think gets it around customs?

I've had 7 watches from Creation. Always arrive within 2 or 3 days, never paid any taxes.

Anyone ever used Iguanasell?

I went for the all army-green Mudman in the end.
I ordered from Creation on Friday afternoon and it arrived here yesterday. Had to pay $26 extra in customs charges but still seemed like a good deal.
As it happened, my SKX also arrived from Japan yesterday despite them saying it was going to take a month to arrive. That didn't get stung for customs charges so all in all it worked out well.Really happy with both watches, just need to sort out a starp for the SKX. Will get pictures up soon.

another +1 for creation. 2 days delivery, and also 'measuring instrument' with $22 value, so 0 tax on any of the last 3 ordered.

Royal mail have just dropped the threshold to £15 for VAT, which means that if your item is £15 then RM will apply their £8 plus the 20%.

Doubt that would work to my country (not UK). They only look at the price they put on the packaging. If they don't believe it, they open it and check the value of it.

I believe Creation use DHL.
-
• #20014
I can confirm. DHL shipping is a no cost option. Value was marked down but I still paid tax and duties for the package. My SKX that came from Japan was sent through regular post and didn't incur any customs charges. You win some you loose some.

Well that went much better than expected.
Quick squirt of WD40 and it ticks like a bomb.

^ Jokes obvs.
Top right pusher mechanism was jammed and gear train needed a clean and lube. Puzzled how a watch that can't be very old got in such a sorry state with no marks on case.
Very easy to fix. Searching for next project.

Looks great. I can see a forum based side business forming here....

I'm very happy to attempt to mend other people's watches if they understand that there is a 50% chance that I'll fuck it up even worse.

Make that 75%

Hehe!
Fair play, always fancied having a go, but ever really got round to it.
Great work BTW

How can that be? You're on a 100% success rate so far!

Fancy a crack at an 80s Soviet knock off of a Swiss movement? Seems to run fine but the second hand is a bit sticky.
It's gathering dust now - so I lose nothing if anything happens.

Ha ha. It has been touch and go at times! Beginners luck.
Seriously, let me know if any of you spot a nice doer upper.
Also, anybody want to buy that Ingersoll? I paid £50 for it so that's what I want. Will trade for a project too.

Would love to in principle but let me build my confidence up a bit with a few of my own movements first.

Great work! It's satisfying when things go so well.
I've just built up an un-issued Smiths W10 from NOS parts. Looks pretty nice:
