Jagwire push-in Rocket Adjuster works well with Sram mtn rear derailleurs. I'm guessing it'll probably work with Shimano too (same cable entry diameter?)...

Some tropical mud...

Disappointingly the paint job on the nfe had a lot to be desired....

The good news is that the guys over at elephant were not only apologetic but have suggested I get it blasted and painted asap and they would foot the bill. No argument, no quibble. Annoying at first but customer service is really fantastic and despite the paint I love this bike.
So... How about this:

Jeez that's horrendous on the paint front, but fantastic service!
Personally loved the original colour, I'd rather stick to something a on similar palette, flat more pastel colour rather than the metallic. Always wondered what a bike would look like in the yellow Caterpillar Diggers/Bulldozers came in.

I agree.
Something like a pastel cream?

Like this with the mudguard as well to match?

Too late! I've gone for a metallic candy blue, matching rack and full black components.... and regretting it already... but I am sure it will look awesome. Inspiration from this:

I absolutely love it.

Although I really liked the previous paint (and the bike), I'm eager to see how this will turn out. Looks really nice.

looking great! although I have to say one of the reasons NFE was my favorite frame of this genre was the paint :-)
looking forward for the build!

I've always particularly liked this one.

Great bike! Great thread! Looking forward to seeing the new incarnation.

Taking longer than I hoped. Going to get up early tomorrow and cable the bastard up. Which means scavenging cable from all over the shop as even the jagwire xl does not come with enough to do fully enclosed brake and gear cables.
-
• #143
I found that too. I used BMX brake cable, it's compressionless too.

Built but not finished. 40km this morning and wow wow wow to modern shimano. Think I'm going to swap out campagnolo on other bike now.
Bars need tweaking, indexing Rd, attaching rack, rear and front lights then done.

Oh and I changed the headset bearings for some cheap ones that I had hanging around and speed wobble has completely disappeared!
-
• #146
Headset always affect the shimmy, glad it's resolved without resorting to needle bearing.
Bike look awesome!

Love the paint and tape/cables. Looks ace

Lovely!
Could you get same rise position by inversing the stem / playing with spacers for more harmonious lines(sorry you said bars need tweaking)
My next tires will be full black, no longer gumwall (on do all bike at least)... I've been thinking about it but seeing your bike fully convinces me...

Dude you gotta get the Ritchey Neoclassic handlebar, would go so well with the frame and have a short reach like your current bar.

I think they found another dinosaur with shittier arms than a T-rex. I am that Dino.
Googling Ritchey Neoclassic...
I'll check later but pretty sure mine is an XT aswell...
