• http://www.frrt.org/tcrno4/ and all that other stuff on the first page.

  • I'm watching Michael Wacker #72 for a comparison wrt hippy's route- think he was closest rider when hippy turned south

    Is particularly good on mobiles

  • Remember that hippy also stopped for longer than planned at cp2 to sort out his gooch. Ultan and co. were hours up the road by the time hippy turned south.

I've been using #168 Vincent Muehlethaler as a guide to how the southern route has worked. He departed CP2 at about the same time as hippy and he has kept a similar pace as Ultan Coyle and Matija Ilic (who were nip and tuck with hippy between CP1 and 2).

  • Fucking Hipster.

  • Wow Hippy has really made some distance on the Southern route

  • Hippy:

    Day 4
    4:47 - 21:56 Aug 2nd
    Track / Route: 206.2 / 256.6 km
    Climbing: 9441.0 m
    Moving: 15.2 hours, 16.9 km/h
    Day 5
    22:01 - 12:35 Aug 3rd
    Track / Route: 198.4 / 209.7 km
    Climbing: 1043.0 m
    Moving: 9.1 hours, 23.0 km/h

  • He has definately made the route work. Good decision

  • What is the likely route for Allegaert from here?

  • Using the replay function on trackleaders, hippy was with 168 - Vincent Muehlethaler and 72 - Michael Wacker when he headed south. He's currently 41.4km behind Vincent and gaining fast! I know hippy will have to enter the mountains again but I can see the three of them being very close at CP3!

  • Then he'll lose any gains on the climb up the Giau.

  • Skinny roughly 150k off tenth place. Amazing surge back up leaderboard.

  • #hippyisnotaclimber

True, but I'm hoping he's less tired as a result of not having to go over all those passes. Go hippy!
On a side note @skinny is only 110km from CP3 and may well bump into hippy on the parcour

  • Is the control car heading for Hippy?

  • Despite the astonishing stats, the most amazing part of that screenshot is still that the Garmin hasn't crashed...

  • Either that or they've had to leave in order to make it to CP4 in time to beat 'The Machine'

  • Can anyone get the Google Streetmap function on Track Leaders to work? Doesn't work for me on either Chrome or IE.

  • He allegedly went south just to avoid the media wagon ...

  • Alice Williams (109) and Alexandra Wright (98) at CP1. Only Rafael Hernandez Varas (51) still to get there.

Tracker far better at eliminating "ghosts" this year.

  • David Coulon making good progress along the northern route to CP2. Go David!

  • a quick hover over some of the trackers on it and it looks like there's a lot of pushing of bikes from tired riders going on so looks like nobody's much of a climber at this stage!

  • Alex Wright's tracker has failed. She is riding on and hoping the TCR can get her a new tracker.

I shall now be focusing on the back markers. Those impressive souls whose achievements are so much more than the super athletes at the front.

  • Beer delivery.

  • Think you are right, fortune favours the brave- he's passed the Bassano turn- No trip to Arsie, no rehash of my crap childish jokes.

  • I'm not the best informed to be asking but we'll find out very soon if he's going for a coastal detour or just making a bee-line through the mountains depending on where he turns south of Zagreb.

he's got enough of a lead he can take a few hours to mull it over anyway!
