I used to use a Hope QR for my Stanton on the rear with no problems till I went bolt-in. A customer who is using a Hope QR for a Gates belt drive with vertical (sliding) dropouts had one instance of slippage. We tightened the skewer up and no problems since.
I do know what you're saying though. Any skewer with an enclosed cam is better than open cams like Hope. -
Is this for the Stanton or the FSi?
Stanton.
I've got a crappy non-enclosed QR on both Stanton and F-Si (stock) at the moment, no issues. Well, apart from when my mate crashed in to the back of me the other day and opened the skewer on the Stanton in the process...
Just gotta keep the cam greased and give it plenty welly.
Everyone else can use a proper skewer.
Are they that bad? I'd always recommend using an enclosed cam but DO WHAT I SAY NOT WHAT I DO etc.
