I interpret the meme as a parody on societies increasing bullshit demands on us all...

...but as everything it can be read the way you want. Don't feel the need to explain yourself as that's perhaps [my interpretation] exactly the performance based societal demands that are being parodied with us comparing ourselves on factors that aren't always under our control/driven by economic demands.
