Guardian writers’ predicted position: 5th
No, 4th or we all die

ROFL. Neverton being linked with every single player it seems. Why the fuck would any player chose Everton?

Leroy Sane to City then, great signing. Looking forward to seeing how he develops under Guardiola.

You watched him much? 8 in 33 for Schalke doesn't seem impressive, but I don't follow Bundesliga much.

If guardiola wasn't manager do you think he'd have gone there?
City has been a club where promising young players careers have gone to stagnate since the money has made big name signings the norm.. -

I'm really excited about some of the signings this season, despite not enough of them being made by Arsenal. I still think there's some big business to be done.
@Manc_Ronnie Sane has insane speed, good technique and seems to have a good attitude. I remember @Prole. being a big fan of his, so he might give you more info. To me he seems good value in this market and someone who should entertain for several seasons to come

Sane is aces. Reckon he could do well in the PL providing he can exploit his pace.

All incoming and outgoing transfers neatly collated.

Interestingly Everton only have a couple of piss-poor arrivals. I thought they had purchased about 8 players going by this thread. What gives?

You are now in the #mostestexcitingmostestbestestleagueintheworld.
At least it was for the last 7 or so years. Reckon the EPL will be it this year.

You have to remember he's been playing for a massively under performing Schalke side ever since he broke into the first team and has played under two completely uninspiring managers in Di Matteo and Breitenreiter. Looks like he has all the attributes to be a great player with the right coaching and is definitely an upgrade on Navas (and Sterling obviously).

completely uninspiring managers in Di Matteo
Oh dear.

Iceland's Euro 2016 midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has signed a new four-year contract with Swansea City. I guess the everton move is imminent then.

He was comfortably one of of the only decent players for us last season, but that's not hard in the shower of shite we had. His stats are better than the results of his performances if you know what I mean. All the interceptions, tackles and completed passes never amounted to having much of an influence on a game. For 2 or 3 games he looked excellent, but was pretty anonymous / not bothered for plenty of others.
He always said Villa was a stepping stone for him so never committed to the cause and when our season fell apart he didn't do much to help.
For £7m it's a steal though - he'll probably look much better in a team that isn't complete crap.
In other news - very happy to have McCormack coming in. Need someone in midfield now and we're looking slightly less awful.

How does this compare to other prem teams?

I think 'GRFZ' is a better name for a stand than most PL teams have.

About 20% cheaper I reckon.

Considering that the average salary is about 50% lower in M'boro than London, it's not that much of a bargain.

Can't argue with much of that, although I don't think Arsenal will get anywhere close to challenging for the league this season even if they do buy the much needed striker and a decent centre half.
As always, Wenger has dithered in the transfer window over the summer, meaning any new additions will come late and not have much time to settle before they are needed. Of his many flaws, this one is the most infuriating, as he uses it as an excuse every fucking year, despite it being something he has control over.
