Out on the road, I find Shimano SPD-SL slightly easier to locate and clip into than Look Keo. Something else to think about is resin road cleats wear out incredibly quickly if you have to unclip and put your foot down a lot (eg stop-start commuting). In that case, metal SPD cleats can work out a lot cheaper in the long run, especially if you get shoes with concealed cleats. A lot of road shoes also now have holes for both road cleats and SPDs.

cheers for the advice. Yeh these will be predominantly used for commuting so they will see a fair amount of clipping in/out, so I'll defo look in to that.
Very boring thread here sorry, but I'm getting my first set of clipless pedals and after browsing the market it seems these Shimano and Exustar pedals are the best value entry level pedals out there atm. Both pedals and cleats, and they are about the same price when postage is included.
