  • Still not happy about referendum are you?
If it had been yes then would that referendum have been a great example of democracy ...

  • I think if someone told you the sun rises in the East you'd try and argue that it actually rises in the West just as often.

To follow your sunny analogy, I think we should all go and look in detail at what the sun actually does before making generalisations :)

  • I called you a fucking moron because

You could have just given the explanation of your argument without the insult.

  • Whatever you do, don't ask an astronomer. I mean, have they ever actually been the sun?

  • I think we should all go and look in detail at what the sun actually does

    Careful now

  • I am allowed to have personal opinions you know. I leave them at the door when I go to work but I can have my own thoughts.

None of that is actually what I said by the way if you go back and look at my posts but whatever.

    (Checks in to Travel Tavern).

  • Sorry to interrupt the leftwing lovefest. Meanwhile, on the right side of American political spectrum all is also not so well....

  • Yeah! Fuck experts! Fuck universities! I know what's right

The English people have had enough of experts. It is time to listen to those who don't know what they are talking about.

  • We are in dark times.

Speaking of which - you about tomorrow around noon? You know who's in town?

  • As successful a democratic exercise as Brexit you mean? Not particularly impressed with the quality of debate surrounding either of them as it happens, not that I made any such reference to it above.

Same underhand tactics, same outcome... Thankfully the Tories are so shortsighted and inept that they've gifted the SNP a re-run, and this time all the No voters have both the broken vows from last time plus the prospect of no longer being in the EU to mull over.

    Bidh mi 'gad fhaicinn!

  • This is fast turning into the lay bore leadership thread. :)

  • I love Owen, but could the setting and tone of this interview be any more islington if it tried?

Somers Town is in Camden. :)

  • Ha - didn't see the venue was actually listed in the article.

Is it just me, or was what Corbyn said in reponse to Owen's question about door knockers meaningless waffle?

  • You're a fucking moron.

Is that really the level of debate you're looking for?

  • There was no debate. Level of conversation perhaps. But it was midnight and by that point it had reached comedic levels of idiocy, so I don't really feel that bad. Much worse, and much more inaccurate, has been said on this forum.

I mean, if we're not allowed to call bullshit on Michael Gove levels of dumbness, we're truly fucked.

  • I mean, if we're not allowed to call bullshit on Michael Gove levels of dumbness, we're truly fucked.

This is really insulting to bullshit and spectacularly inaccurate even by the standards of this forum. :)

  • Right as always, Oliver. My apologies to bullshit.

Also, as two people seem to have been bothered by me calling fox a fucking moron, apologies to forum sensibility. I will refrain in the future.

  • Mrak you're bending too easily... never say sorry.

  • Fuck, you're right. Never explain, never apologize. Joe's coming back just in time.

  • Fuck no. In zombie apocalypse proof Nofolk on hols. Easy access to shot guns, potatoes, bacon, wind power, boats and cream teas. Bring on the end times.

    #iwillsurviveheyheyheeeeey

  • I think the conspiracy theories from both sides, whether it's the murdoch / blairite alliance, or the resurgence of the militant tendency wanting to de-select the entire PLP, or the brick being thrown by a blairite spy to give Eagle ammunition, or the biased media, all this is useless and toxic.

I think Corbyn will win a vote by the membership. I then think the party will split. There will be a rash of bye-elections, and no opposition party until someone has the second largest number of seats. Will the SNP take on this role in the meantime? Could any new party ally with the SNP given they want to break up the union? It seems to me that our electorate need a hard left party led by Corbyn, and a centre-left party with economic nouse, experience in government and broader appeal. The dilemma is interesting. The mud-slinging isn't.

  • The price we pay for freedom of speech?

  • Great time to send out a campaign text really.

    Maybe tonight I'll get a "hey wuu2?" #owensmithbootytexts

Totally! I really don't agree that I am a moron, but I would absolutely defend the right of the trash can with no name to call me that.

The Michael Gove comparison though, ouch :(
