Wanted, road frameset Circa 1970

  • My dads looking for a nice old 70's steel frame and fork to build up.

Budget isn't much more than £100 I'm afraid but may be more for the right frame.

Looking at a 58-60 frame size.

To give you an idea he used to ride an old Sid Mottram, Holdsworth, Freddy Grub, Claud Butler etc, you get the idea.

If you've got anything suitable drop me a line.

    Cheers Jon.

  • Hi,
I have this, very good condition about 60 tall 58 long, I can strip it down to the frame, inc. headset, £100. reynolds 501 tubing. Now its near Manchester.

    cheers,
    Dan

  • Anything more specific? Eyeleted, Time trial frame, 700c vs 27", fork end or horizontal drop outs?

  • I've got a Claud Butler Dalesman touring frame, 58cm and made from Reynolds 531 st, currently just the frame but could build it complete or just include suitable forks, pm if interested.

  • Apologies.

He's looking for something close to a full on road race frame to build up with some old Campag 6-7 speed parts he has.
No eyelets if poss. Standard forward facing drop outs.

Nothing re-sprayed, something original but no too scruffy.

Might be able to stretch the budget further for the right frame.

  • Just realised I've posted this in the wrong section.

It can be removed if needed.

  • I had this Claud Butler advertised for sale here before it disappeared into the void. Any good?
