Cycle transport

  • I will need to get 20 road bikes from London to Bristol. All reasonably expensive, therefore needing care and attention. No stacking or packing. Anyone know who could provide this kind of service? Dedicated bike transport? (no they are not stolen - for some clients who wish to cycle some of our highways and byways this autumn)

    Cheers and beers Marc

  • 5 trips on GWR from Paddington?

  • Its a possibility but will to pay for premium transport.

  • Willing to pay

  • I could only think a pro cycling club has the setup to transport that many bikes in one go without just using a luton van.

  • Cheers @Backstop, may have to make some enquiries there then.

  • Hire a bunch of solid case bike boxes from the likes of http://www.bikebox-online.co.uk/ and then drive them in the back of a luton or similar. Or you could even do the rounds of bike shops and take their old cardboard bike boxes.

Or you could look for a company similar to http://www.libertycoaches.info/ who might have a large volume bicycle specific trailer available for hire.

  • Theres a bike bus that goes to Europe with a bike trailer, can't remember the name now.

  • Cheers @The_Seldom_Killer may look into these.

  • Used for years and fullproof to ferry up (heavy)DH bikes.

Collect cardboard sheets that go over paletts,
    at a drinks suppliers,
    supermarket etc,
they fit in a normal sized car.

Use 2/3 sheets as partition between each bikes standing up in a lutton van,
    2 layers no problem,
    more probably with road bikes.
Just make sure each layer is complete.
