I want to make a website to act as a bit of a portfolio of the things I've been doing/making recently.
I use Etsy for selling some of the stuff I make so don't need anything fancy and would prefer it to be free as I really won't get any return from it, not directly at least.
Is Wordpress my best bet?
I fucked about with Wix there and got something pretty good looking but then realised it had those shitty ads on it and would cost me to remove them.

squarespace is pretty good for simple websites

You won't get one for free though, at the very least you'll need to pay for a domain name. Unless you go with the Wordpress.com route and use their default URL

I need a replacement set of cranks for my Surly Straggler, cheap as possible and either 165 or 170mm double front ring,
what options do I have? If I buy 110bcd I can use my existing rings.

Cheers, will check out squarespace.
Don't mind paying for a domain so much coz it's a couple quid a year but I'll not see enough return on the site to be spending £5-10 a month on it to go ad free n that.

If you use Wordspace then make sure to apply the updates, I work in email security and a vast quantity of phishing email that I see comes from hacked Wordpress sites - as it's trivially easy when the site has fallen behind the update schedule (and also when it hasn't, sadly).

Fuck... just discovered 5 of my suits have been wrecked by moths. Worst of all they seem to have targeted the fanciest ones as well, the bastards have good taste!
Will dry clean the surviving suits, and ordering garment bags now, but can anyone tell me if the breathable type garments bags are moth proof, or does it need to be the plastic type?

putting a fork with 20mm longer A2C on a croix de fer
Compensate by fitting a 650b front wheel. The rim radius is smaller by 19mm.

...5 of my suits...
I made the wrong life choices, I don't even own one suit.

I own one and almost never wear it, I'm happy about this.

If you use Wordspace then make sure to apply the updates,
I've done the 2 step authentication thing, I don't see any 'updates' to do?
Are you talking about if you're using the app? I'll just be working on it from my desktop.

Get yourself over to the owning your own home thread. Last 2 pages all about moths!

Moths have plagued me for years now. Yesterday evening one flew into my oven as I was checking in dinner. I took sadistic pleasure closing the door on it.

We have just ordered a ton of moth traps.
They have infested a food cupboard - and have even managed to burrow through plastic packaging to get to oats and other dry foods. Last week we were continually finding moth caterpillars on our kitchen ceiling, but having binned the contaminated food and installed traps their numbers have been greatly reduced.
We also have an electric fly swat that I have taken particular pleasure in using to zap the little fuckers.

Any recommendations for a portable MP3 player that has DAB radio please?

Is there variation in rear derailleur mounting positions or is it fairly standard between frames?
I've recently switched a rear mech onto an old 90s mtb and now the jockey wheels won't clear the 34t sprocket on my cassette (but the same combo has worked fine on a more modern frame). It's not within the range that the b-tension screw can help with either.
Assuming the frame simply has a shorter mech hanger, what's the best new derailleur I could buy (9 speed compatible, with greatest possible distance from mounting screw to upper jockey wheel).
Thanks.

It mostly depends on the frame geometry as opposed to the derailleur presuming you are using a long cage one.

Hub like this:
Bolts like this:
Ti ones I've got are 4mm allen key rather than the stock 5mm - Will I die as a direct result of using them? Obviously won't be using chaintugs.

Hey, forum.
I (forrin non-londoner) am visiting London for a week mid August with my family.Any "must see" opportunities?
Thanks all!

GSIAD. Has to be done. :)

Ask for a tour of London's fixie famous foffa factory!

Will I die
Yes. Ti screws love to chew up if you apply any torque, even more so when they are using undersized tooling. Stick to steel, preferably Torx, and use tugs. No amount of weight saving is worth it if your tyre gets shoved up against the NDS chainstay by your starting effort.

Not from there, but I've always enjoyed London's markets and the V&A, Courtald, Tate Modern and British Museum.

Ah lame - no Ti bolts then. Still no chaintubs though, I've had 4 different wear wheels using the same system and none have ever slipped without tugs.
Don't panic, I'm semi-scared of talking to strangers on the Internet, it was more of a joke
