• What a shop Alsal is - dropped my watch off yesterday and had a call a few hours later to say they'd got it working again. No charge.

  • Yeah they're great, I often wonder how they're making money.

    Although I do chuckle sometimes at what the younger guy comes out with. He was telling me how shocked he was that a customer wore his Submariner swimming. I sort of wanted to ask what's the point in owning such a watch if you don't use it...?

  • Haha - I asked them what had gone wrong with mine. He asked if I understood how watches work so I said I'd have a go at understanding if he explained - he just shook his head and said he'd made it work again. Can't argue with that.

  • They sell quite a lot of their more expensive watches in there and their usual prices aren't the cheapest.

    Lots of lawyers looking for late birthday presents etc.

    I had a funny conversation about Grand Seiko with them. They just couldn't accept that a Seiko could be worth more than a few hundred quid. Just didn't compute.
