Really hope it's not this hot!

You should also have had an email titled "Action Required – Transport Options" that had the info, and they also needed you to complete the travel survey to confirm your entry.
Deadline for that was 15/07/16 so I'd def give them a call
Well reminded, just filled mine out.
I'm Orange, B, 6.11 - I've ridden it in four and a half hours every year and they're slowly moving me back from my original 6am start. Clearly a comment that I need to get faster.

I hope nobody minds a shameless plug for my charity place donation page - is this allowed under forum rules?
London Air Ambulance: https://londonsairambulance.co.uk/events/prudential-ridelondon-surrey-100/fundraisers/rhowe
Last night's ThNKR was essentially a trial run - 90 miles, 17mph, 44×15. Should make sub-5½h doable given the amount of group riding there'll be.

Fixing Dad, on BBC2 just now featured the ride. Pretty inspirational stuff and the dad was a quality cantankerous soul. Worth a watch on iPlayer if you've got an hour.

Apollo if this has been asked a thousand times before. I haven't been picked in the ballot this year, can I just turn up at the start line and do the route anyway? I wouldn't take advantage of food/drink stops just the closed roads. Has anyone done this before?

The attack helicopters will get you

What do you think?

You won't make it to the start line. You could try joining en route, but it'd be taking the royal piss.

😂 fucking hell that is taking the piss

This time last year I was commuting 30 miles a day, getting 50/60 or 70 milers in 3 times a week - either RP laps or out into Kent.
I was 66kg and dancing up the hills.
I rode the 100 in 5hrs dead.This year I am 78kg. Commuting 12 miles a day and haven't done a ride of over 20miles in months.
My diet is shit.
I drink too much.
I haven't had 8 hours sleep in one night since before xmas. Not hopeful.

If we're doing charity plugs, Mrs upsidedown is hoping to raise some money for a charity she's previously spent several months at in India as a volunteer vet.

Much the same here. Using the excuse of riding with my brother and his mate to have a more social pace.

Oh ta, bumped your collection fund up a bit too.

I was at the finish when a fence-jumper had the nerve to try to pick up a finisher's medal. The PA guy on the microphone was watching, dropped his jovial radio DJ tone and completely lost it.
Pretty anti-social...could have got a charity spot.

Apologies for upsetting some of you. I sincerely did not think it was a big deal.
Personally I don't agree with charity organisations as a whole nor the whole fundraising that people participate in, i digress.
I would not want to cause a problem for the organisers, I was merely asking if people are able to do the route without all the faff. I am also not interested in a medals, but thank you for your resources all the same.

Yeah, trying to help other people, what a load of bastards. Shoot the lot of them, the selfish gits.

I love helping people, I don't need to give money to organisations to make myself feel like i'm contributing to society. There are many other facets to charity organisations I don't agree with on a political, social and economic level. Charity fundraising and events are so imbedded in our society now that I don't expect many people to understand this point of view.

Yeah, I only give money to charities to make me feel good about myself too. What other reason would there be?

Bollocks, just woke up with a hacking cough, not looking good for Sunday :(
Is it easy enough to defer the ride if necessary?
