My dad lives in Chingford so could arrange a visit and come along to this, but I don't have a MTB.

Very much so. @Ramsaye actually prefers to use as CX bike there, rather than his MTB
I mean, he might just possess rad skills, but.....

Well, lets just say that at the last one, in thick gloop, two members of this parish turned up on fixie skidders with slicks and did ok.....you'll be fine on a crosser 👍
