You risk stripping the threads if you over tighten an Allen skewer.
Have you tried a shimano closed cam qr?
That fancy dt one is just as bad as novatec, zipp, planetx etc etc.. lightweight yes, but won't hold a thing.

Ah yes, just read up on sheldon about the difference between enclosed and exposed cam. Ill give a Shimano closed cam a try, and maybe an allen skewer if it still doesnt hold.
Anyways, regarding narrow wide, it looks like ill have to go with Wolf Tooth's for 74 Euros from singlespeed.nl. There doesnt seem to be any alternatives for 5arm 94bcd.
Anyone know a place to get a cheap custom NW's done? Or is it not at all worth it.

Thanks for the heads up. Luckily the titanium frame has 82mm between the studs, so no problems there. However the Van Tuyl is 62mm at the fork, and 68 in the rear. I have however successfully run V's on my gfs touring bike, which was 62 at the fork. All the spacers on the outside, and a bit of filing to the pad (non rim side) made it work perfect. Not ideal, but what the hell.
Funny you mention the allen skewer. I considered it, but i didnt actually think they could hold more than a fully tensioned quick release. I guess ill give it a go
