Time Trial / Time Trialling / TT

Temporary due to roadworks on the Espley leg south of the Hodnet roundabout so they cut that loop short at Hodnet RAB and needed a different loop to throw people out on.

This year the legs were easily identifiable:-

Battlefield:

• New
  
• Col du Whatever-it-was
  
• Almost Peak District-esque in views
  
  

Espley (cut short at Hodnet):-

• big pothole I never successfully avoided just before the single carriageway wiggly bit through the cattle farm on the way back
  
• at night a couple of kids jumping out to scare riders just after Hodnet on the way back
  
• green glowstick lost in the middle of the road where it thinned down to single carriageway
  
• broken down milk tanker opposite the Castle Inn
  
• The Mersey Beatles performing at the Tern Hill Hotel
  
  

Quina Brook:

• fly tipping first left just after time keeper
  
• barking dog at a house with three sheep in a very thin roadside enclosure
  
• orange glove on roadside on the run in to Prees Island - hello glove
  
  

[EDIT] Finishing circuit:-

• That climb up to the pub
  
• That badger - ugh
  
• The support everywhere
  
  

I needed lots of distractions to occupy my mind for that long. Those are the things that stuck in my head.
