  • Some new pictures up on Flickr

Shades by Sean Fisher, on Flickr

  • Nice, I like this one too:

  • Yeah!

How was your trip to Berlin by the way?

  • I'm going on holiday for three weeks in three weeks time to Europe on a little trip. And I'm trying to decide what to take. My options are; Sony Rx100iii, Contax t2, Nikon FE with 135mm 24mm and 50mm, Mamiya 645, pentax me super with 50mm and an Olympus XA2. I'm also thinking about whether I should go film or digital as I can imagine my self shooting loads of rolls of portra 160. Right now it’s my favourite and this means it's going to be expensive... I was also thinking about buying Super 8 for some video. I'm a bit concerned about weight mostly.. and advice would be great! or any new cameras would be a great suggestion, new MF perhaps?

  • Boast post ;)

  • I would say take one film camera and the RX100. Better getting it right with one camera rather than dithering over which one to use.

Shooting film on holiday is great as you can't do any chimping or editing until you get home and gives a whole extra day of excitement when you get your prints back.

Use the RX100 as a backup.

  • Not been to Berlin yet, heading out on the 26th, will drop you a message if you fancy burning some film with me?

  • Yeah, sounds like you need a new camera.

  • I'd pack the Nikon with the 50... plus the 24mm for a pocket. And the Contax for after dark. Shoot video on your phone?

For me digital is for work and film is for fun. Holidays are fun obvs. Have a good one.

  • I'm very new to analogue photography but picked up a lomography Diana camera and the fish eye 2 camera. Anyone used anything similar. Any tips?

  • haha... I didnt mean to boast! only to tell you everything I have so you guys can help me out.

Thanks for the help though, but contax for after dark?

  • Shot on Kodak Gold 200

  • A collection is hard to resist, i know. There are such good camera systems (relatively) cheap now.

I was thinking Contax at night because flash - supernice with portra 160.

  • Really?

    Ace.

I'm really in love portra 160 right now. do you shoot it at 100?

i've got a leica m6 with 35mm too if you think that would be nice to shoot with instead..

  • Flash on film, especially P+S camera's seems to work better than digital P+S, I think due to the way film preserves the highlights.

This was taken with a cheap P+S Canon and Portra 400 with on camera flash.

  • Will likely not be in town due to work, but let's see!

    Love the shot above.
So good when kids grow up with cameras, not developing the dread most people have!

  • Portra 160 + contax/yashica/zeiss is classic T.Richardson etc.

You'll hardly see any difference shooting it 2/3 of a stop over but it won't do any harm.
