It's a common complaint from the CAAD12 Disc owner as there's nothing holding the housing inside the down tube.
Why didn't either of the ones I test rode do it then?
Because they were likely to be fitted differently.
Is the housing veery long? Lift and drop the bike to see if it make a rattle.
If it's like mine, housing was long but okay, until I slammed the stem and then it became too long, as Ed points out. I think it's compounded by being so tight around the BB so there is no option to move the slack more evenly throughout the frame
