Bit of a damp squid after yesterday's madness.

Great stuff, time for bed...

Bof.

GC boredom there, no one wanting to risk their places. Fun stage though.

New rule: you may run, but other spectators are allowed to remove you from the road in any way they deem necessary

We did that on alpe duez when a guy dressed up as one of kiss would run up and down annoying us all . Come the race and a leg went out flipping him on his face . He buggered off after that .

Meintjes currently at eight for the GC and second for white.
Isn't that one of the surprises this year?I vaguely remember last year's fantasy cycling had him down as a mediocre climber.
-
• #2389
He was 10th in the Vuelta last year, which is a good indicator of future Tour potential.
I'm not sure a fantasy cycling game's ratings is a better indicator.

lulzI can't get used to seeing Thomas pacing Henao, Poels and Froome up HC climbs, he's come some way from the track.
Been some great moments this tour on individual stages but the GC battle's been a bit of a damp squib. l'equipe comparing Team Sky's 'supermarket' to other teams 'family store' seems pretty apt.
-
• #2393
He's worked with Sky and Froome in particular throughout the Tour. #JohnTerry will only come into play if he sneaks into a Team Sky/ Froome glass of champagne shot tomorrow ; )

Ahh, I think Porte's probably the least lucky rider out there. Punctures at terrible moments, falls off at worse ones. He'd have given Froome a bit more to worry about than any of the others had it not been for misfortune.
-
• #2395
I expect being friends and having been in the same teams allows you some grace from team sky. I.e, if it didn't affect his win, Froome probably would have not got in the way of Porte aiming for a podium spot for example.

What a ride from Adam Yates. 4th on GC, with very little team support to speak of.

The last few KMs looks similar to the preceding 60km ;)

Highlights for me - Cav and Dimension Data - the Pantano and Alaphillipe show and Adam Yates - hope Mr.Porte gets more luck/support soon.

Kelderman's crash yesterday;
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=iGKm9uzLiqY
Looks like a really hard impact. I saw him crossing the line looking unhappy, now we know why. @peter_v anything in the Dutch media about his injuries?

Ouch! That's some slide & crash. I was wondering too why it took him so long to finish.
Media say the doctor made a scan after he finished, found only (heavy) bruising of the lower back but nothing really serious. Kelderman said it was very difficult to pedal after the crash though. Won't be feeling too flexible getting out of bed this morning probably. Let's hope that he can ride this evening in Paris.
No?!
Did see the spectator/runner being pulled off his feet though (LOL)
This is going to be some descent, go Pantano!
