Doesn't matter dude, if you gave them to me to fit on your bike, I'd says no right on the spot.
Do the magic gearing route, your bike not only will work well, but look a million time better than a big clunk of steel sticking out of the delicate Cannondale drop out.
It's not held by a single bolt. It also has an added width to be in contact with the existing dropout and another bolt to keep it secure. I think you miss some information. I will post further pictures to show you how it's done.
