Is it moving or creaking? It's fine.

Are there any proper pics of that build on here?
-
• #6429
nope

I've never done cranks with a torque wrench. Just by applying torque until there is no more play and then just a slight amount more. Looks fine up there.

Anyone know the largest tyres you can get on a caadx?

Thanks. That paint!

Indeed

This is so anti
-
• #6438
It's hardly anti imo. I just wouldn't even want to sit on it with those dropouts never mind ride it.

Waste of a lovely road frame just to make an imitation of a c-track? Fake it till u make it
-
• #6440
It's a shame you don't like it. It's a project I have had for the past 3 years. Nothing was sacrified. If I remove the dropouts then it's back to its normal road frame mode. I can't afford a real C-Track and that is why I built it. It's quite sad to read your reactions but well tastes are different for everyone. Let's just say that project kind of helped me when I was having a real hard time

those r series road frames are pretty. Maybe using magic gear would be a cleaner solution?
-
• #6442
Some people build bikes to post a picture of it on here for approval, I agree with doing magic gear, would look cleaner and definitely be safer. But otherwise it's rad, ride it like you stole it and ignore what anyone thinks as long as it puts a smile on your face

I tried but it's not perfect

Thank you

Bike look fine, don't be an idiot and take our that drop out.
It's a deathtrap, especially without a brakes.
-
• #6446
Then keep working it out, use half link chain if you have to.

I live in the countryside and don't ride much. This is mainly a deco bike. I don't really get what could go wrong but I understand your reserve.

• #6448
if you measure the dropout -> bb it really well i think theres atleast couple of calculators online for magic gearing
-
• #6449
I don't really get what could go wrong.
Oh I don't know, having a single bolt onto the original drop out with no way of keeping it from rotating under pressure, riding fixed without a front brakes amplified this further, and those Cannondale with the extended drop out aren't exactly known to be well made.
I don't even know of any distributor in the UK that sell them, let alone in their right mind to.
Seriously, work out the magic gearing, this is much safer.

Yep, and if the chainstay length is the same as my r500 then 44/15 should fit (that's what I have on mine)
looks good
