So yesterday I took delivery of this beast " Monty "

Changed the bars and grips, removed the rear brake and added BLB pedals and straps.

I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Next on the list is change the brake lever to something like a dirt harry or Paul E type.

It is. Evans (used to) sell them.

Folding mech uses or used to use a skewer to lock in place.

Yes that's correct. I take it on the Gatwick Express twice daily so it works brilliantly for me.

Amazing build quality and not bad weight wise at around 11kg.

where I live there's an overpriced montague folding Mtb with the most exquisite splatter paintjob, sadly way too short and expensive for its condition..
