• Last evening going west on London Wall through the Moorgate lights and towards a light controlled ped crossing on green and a mum (loose term in this instance) pushed her baby in the baby pushchair across the crossing with her lights on red. I hollered and threw out the anchors and stopped in time otherwise would have t-boned the buggy and the baby. Jeez - the abuse mum gave me. It was busy and I checked the lights thinking I've fucked up here but no - I'm on green and she's on red. Other peds just stared. Bizarre.

  • Those kind of incidents are where I tend to take the line of:-

    "
Yes, I know it's my job to stop even if someone walks out when they shouldn't. I'm happy with that and you'll notice I did manage to stop.

But if you keep doing that, one day you're going to do it in front of someone who isn't paying attention and won't stop in time. And you and/or your child will be dead or seriously injured.

The moral high ground of "but you should be able to stop" is useless if you're dead.
    "

Repeating the last bit a few times to them whilst they continue to rant often makes it sink in.
