That's the plan, once I decide where to go. Ask me in case I forget to do so.
So far the idea is:
Train to Penzance
- Penzance to st. ives along the coast clockwise
- St ives to Padstow
- Padstow to Polperro or Fowey - via port Isaac, Tintagel and Camel trail
- Back to Plymouth via the Rame peninsula
Train Plymouth to London
- Penzance to st. ives along the coast clockwise

In the meantime, has anyone got feedback about the restrap frame bags?

Just picked one of these up, pretty good value at £35! Nice construction, genuinely waterproof and nice and light, all in all a nice bit of kit
-
• #2207
Nice, £35 is rrp?
-
• #2208
No - I think £40, but lots of places you can grab a 10% discount

Smashed that kickstarter goal. :o

Damn, I didn't realise it ended today. Just read about it and was going to take a closer look this evening.
Ho hum.

With a final tally like that I doubt it'll be long before they're available everywhere! :)

My experience of Kickstarter so far is that it will be a while, and they'll miss the deadline, and that will be so exhausting for the team behind it that they either then implode, or if they manage to build a bigger company it will take even longer before it gets out of the door.
I'm still waiting on something that is now 2 years overdue... apparently shipping this September, but I no longer believe them and consider the money lost. It would be nice if something turns up, though I no longer need it.

Final route for next weekend in Corwall. GF has injured knees so I will have saddle bag, handlebar bag and two rear panniers all on mine (~20kg for me). Last day is looking tough.

Beautiful section though by the looks of it, on the last day.
I was looking at this area doing a round trip from Exeter.
Let us know how you get on. -

Went on a little Solo overnighter last night, 50 or so off-road miles from my parents in Falkirk through Carron valley up to Aberfoyle in the Trossachs. Ended up at Loch Drunkie. then the same route in reverse this morning. By the time I got to the really beautiful countryside I was in the pain cave and just struggled along trying to make my destination before nightfall.
Straggler is great, camping in Scotland is terrible. So many Midgies, I look like I have chicken pox.

Just a hammock and tarp!? What did you expect in the Trossachs? I'm all for lying under the stars but definitely not there and definitely definitely not at this time of year-it's bad enough riding through clouds of them.

Urgh, I made that mistake many years ago, wild camping by the side of Loch Lomond.
Woke up with a face that felt like bubble wrap.

Same the last time I camped in Wales. I think it's a problem anywhere north, south, east or west of London.

I like your set up, I'll be aiming for something similar on mine. How did you split the weight between front rack and saddle pack?
And @giofox88 do post your routes, ideally with https://ridewithgps.com and that way I can use them later in the year ;)
