Lawyer up! Will take time, and you may need to harass them to get them to do their job properly, but you'll be compensated properly for your pain, broken bike and any loss of earnings.
Think Leigh day are the solicitors of choice on the forum. Or become a member of LCC or CTC and use the legal team from either of them... Well worth the membership fee...
Is the info here still useable? Sorry for being ignorant but I've never been in an accident before where I need to get the law involved.
I got hit by a white van at upper street yesterday, Theberton Corner. I'm on my way to Highbury and islington from Angel and White Van was coming the opposite direction turning right to Theberton street. I saw him indicating but I was pretty much in the crossing already so I went ahead only for this guy to keep on coming without stopping to let me through.
Long story short, I got hit and taken to Royal London by an ambulance. Police took a report from the van driver and they gave me his details. I never got the chance to speak to the guy as I was pretty much on the tarmac the whole time. 2 broken ribs, bruised kidney, and aching right arm. Broken Bike. I got discharged today as I was told that hospital cant do anything else as the bones will heal itself. Gave me loads of painkillers.
Police told me to call the van driver once i'm feeling better, but I was advised by other people to seek solicitors advice before calling the driver. Not sure what to do, any advice?
