I've a Van Schothorst rim in lovely condition with a Sturmey Archer hub if you fancy getting something built up. Came off a 60s club bike but the spokes were a bit iffy so I salvaged the rim/hub. Hub runs super smoothly and is nice and shiny like the rim.
The rim also has much improved braking compared to every chromed steel rim I've ridden, likely to do with the ridges. -

Hi
Like the above offer it's not a built wheel, but I've got a 40h 'FB' (these are the Dog's B's, flipflop fixed/free but low flange - the original preCampag) hub and a 40h dunlop Special Lightweight 27" clincher (plus a pair of 27x1 1/4" schwalbes). Hub, needs a little tlc but is sound, bearings need replacing but the faces seem good, exterior much more patina than that^. Rim's chroming is in really nice condition, the bead edge has a small bulge but as it's steel that can be block & viced back in a bit.I have a pile of original lightweight guage db spokes (16/17 or 15/17) that could be of use too.
Ask for images if you're interested.

Hmm, this is just the sort of nice budget kit I was after, but because of the cost of building to factor in, the price would be too high, which is my main concern here. And building it myself is not an option either:(
But cheers anyway guys, I'll hang on in case anything else comes along. -

I probably have one of these that's not being used. I'll have a look over the weekend. I'm in Greenwich.

OK, that's good news, thanks. No real rush with this, so take your time. I've been trying to complete the build for over six months, two or three more days hardly matters:)

Still looking...
Hi all,
As in the title, looking for one of these to finish a 50's build. The build isn't anything exotic, so I'm not after anything NOS, Charter Lee, Campag hub etc. But I would prefer branded parts and fairly good nick, obviously. Size must be 27". Rim should be steel, hub large flange, but I'm not all that fussed if they're not. No rod braking rim design, tub rim, or hub gears, thanks. Will happily swap for other quality wheel, tell me what you need:)
