• Yes, compared to some others I've tried it's pretty good.
The Nikon L35AF is also focusing very good in low light I've found.

^ I think @ItkI nailed it. They both use IR and do a good job. A difference is the nikon shows in the finder whether or not you've hit the desired focus... and you can rate the ISO manually - handy if you want to use available light.

    I'd save £50 and buy a mju-i and get a round in.

I'll recommend this too, haven't got a mju ii but my mju i doesn't seem to be too bad for £15 i got it for.
Mju ii costs around £70+ unless you get a great bargain, but guessing would produce better/sharper pictures esp in low light. Would recommend the mju(i or ii) or xa(orig. or 2) as they are v small/portable and light.

Pics from my mju ii using agfa vista 200:

  • I didn't recommend either, just explaining how each differ in relation to your intended use.

I've kept copies of both... so perhaps that's what I recommend... :)

The nikon might be slightly more pleasant to shoot with, maybe. I like the finder and the handling. But it's relatively big/heavy/indiscreet. You can get a mju 1 for £20 easily so that's perhaps what I would do.

    tl:dr: Buy a mju-1 already.
