Like the first one!
Are these solar panels?
-
• #11954
Thanks Tina, yes they are solar panels, a new solar farm constructed outside my village. Dundee is the sunniest city in Scotland, so it would appear to make sense. They are fixed position PV panels I think.

Does anybody have a profile for scanning Portra 400 that works with SilverFast 6.x ?
I hear they included a new profile with 8.0 - was wondering if I could use it with my version but can't get my hands on it.
Getting the colours right is such a pain..
Edit: ok so it appears that there isn't an (official) one for the new Portra; at least it isn't listed on their site under available profiles..

di the colour profiles make things better? Do you have comparisons? I've never ever bothered with my scans

Somebody said about Silverfast's Negafix / profiles they either work perfectly, or it's a complete disaster - and I agree pretty much.

So what the fucking hell do you do whe you finish a roll of medium format? There's no rewind mechanism. Does it just entwine itself in a magic spool of goodness or is there some witchcraft to be encurred? I feel like a monkey with an obelisk.

You be careful to keep the roll tight when you take it out (try to avoid letting it energetically uncoil everywhere), fold the tab under on the backing paper, lick the thin strip of paper like an envelope and seal it tight.

Minolta Dynax 7, 50mm F1.4 on Ektar 100
Also looking for some advise, wanting a 35mm compact to take on a stag do (Berlin) that will be happy focusing / shooting in low light for party times and good for day time exploration.
Hit me with your suggestions.

You need a spare spool for the film to wind itself onto. Once you've done a roll you use the last spool for the next roll. If you're in London drop me a PM I've got a couple spare you're welcome to.

The top 3 in particular are so beautiful.
Got an Olympus AF-1 at Deptford Market yesterday.
Seems to be workin okay. Excited to run a roll through it to see what it's like. -

Focusing ok in low light?

Thanks very much!

Yes, compared to some others I've tried it's pretty good.
The Nikon L35AF is also focusing very good in low light I've found. -

Cheers for that, it was surprisingly easy.
Got a 65mm f/4 with it. Only got the camera for a month though so need to make the most of it.

Yes, compared to some others I've tried it's pretty good.
The Nikon L35AF is also focusing very good in low light I've found.^ I think @ItkI nailed it. They both use IR and do a good job. A difference is the nikon shows in the finder whether or not you've hit the desired focus... and you can rate the ISO manually - handy if you want to use available light.
I'd save £50 and buy a mju-i and get a round in.
haha
