I am actually quite capable of taking photos. But I do not ride around with a dslr.
I will make an effort this weekend. -

Absolutely brilliant job. I found this after reading all of your other build thread. An interesting read.
Where do you get your decals from and is there a nack to applying them?
Also why were you using acetone on the stem? I realise it's to do with the finish but am not sure what affect you were after.

Acetone gets rid of unwanted logos on stems/seatposts etc.

Thanks. Doesn't it also discolour the anodizing? We have a lot of black anodized components at work that have become discoloured after contact with solvent.

I tend to put the acetone on a rag, rub the logo, once it's all gone wash with warm soapy water, then give the whole stem a quick blast of gt85, rub with clean cloth. Seems to work ok.

Thanks.
To be honest I haven't yet found a proper decal supplier. You need to buy quite a lot to make it worth while, and I am not ready to commit to a specific design yet. The decals have been laser cut by very kind forumgers.
Vinyl stickers are best for masking out when painting, but I just use them on top of the powder coat or paint. In the long run they might peel off. I use alcohol to clean they frame before applying. -

I have updated the build a bit. Thomson kit, new pedals and King Iris cages.

You want a broken thomson instead? No thank you

Very nice. How long is the stem? It looks really long in the photo but it could be deceptive.
-
• #323
Very nice as usual, Hulsroy. Super neat bar tape finish near the stem. Lots of little OCD details that makes the build really stand out!

Thank you. It is 120mm 10 degrees.

Thank you.
Could be worse, you could work in customer services.
