Not sure if commented on here but there's quite a momentum building up on The 48% Facebook group which is a closed group yet growing fast through friend recommendations. Some good ideas on there

Our PM, TM, has got straight down to business:

ha! take that, experts!
smart move tho - great way to shore up a few slack jawed, swivel eyed ukip CCD votes without having to lift a finger. the comments attest to that.

She's also been to Scotland to tell them, confusingly, they can fuck off if they want a second referendum.

Staying in a Britain that is outside of Europe is an insane proposition for Scotland.
They should rightfully ignore May, push forward with an indy referendum, and force Westminster's hand.
Everything that WM has championed for years has been "self-determination"... by Falklands, Gibraltar, with regards to devolution and Wales and Scotland.
It would be very hard for WM to suddenly say and impose itself on Scotland, and would be likely to accelerate the process if they did try.

English rump..
TBF the English have been devaluing 'Britishness' for decades. Without the EU there is no point for NI, Scotland or Wales to this union.

oh rly?

Scotland to have independence, form a Republic or appoint a new king, remain in the EU, remove trident submarines, rebuild Hadrian's Wall with border patrols. Rightfully claim Falkand Islands to power share with Argentina and share oil fund. Become the next Danmark in terms of GDP and happiness among folk. If this happens I will move to Edinburgh, eat haggis and wear my kilt at weekends.

Yes.
Go back and a page and read this: http://www.politics.co.uk/blogs/2016/07/14/everything-you-need-to-know-about-theresa-may-s-brexit
Even if Scotland were not more inclined now to leave than to stay, staying just got a whole lot scarier for it.

Scotland joining the EU is dependent on Spain acquiescing.
-
• #4265
There seems to be some debate over whether Scotland would be seen to have left or whether Scotland's vote to remain is seen as continued membership.
-
• #4266
I think Brexit is one of the only chances Scotland has to joining the EU (at least in any sort of speedy time-frame) for that exact reason. If it were wrangled in a way that Scotland never leaves the EU, but others do, the Catalan problem disappears. Spain (and others) may become more open to the possibility as it does not set a precedent.

I'll just be happy to stay out of the sphere of influence of May-hem and Bo-jo, however it comes around.
I think the unfavourable comparison between May and Thatcher, whilst like cat-nip to the entitled Tories down South is like anthrax to her political reputation up here. Serving it up with the private-school japes of Johnson and that most particular anus dispensary that is Jeremy Hunt just douses that already limp and lifeless political glans in an ice-bucket: the Tories are even more unelectable than the Blairite infighting and their proxy-muppet in Scotland Kezia "I don't know what the fuck I'm doing" Dugdale. The new Scottish Secretary David Mundell is likewise about as endearing to the general populace as an outbreak of Spanish Flu and likely to just enflame the already prominent notion that even after years of strong hints, Westminster politics shows no more sign of understanding what is going on up here than it did when Churchill sent tanks to occupy George Square in Glasgow.
All of them in the sea, or Gruber's moving continent.

I'm thinking there's a chance of Sturgeon becoming UK PM next time around if she pushes for pulling back from Brexit and as long as Article 50 is stalled by legalities till 2020.
Is this a realistic possibility or just me being hopefully naive? -

As a Dutch person living in NI I don't feel much love for this place from Westminster.
It's hard to feel united when any issues caused by Brexit are treated with
"Ah well that's too fucking bad, your problem".Of course such is democracy you have to suck things up. But loss of investment funding from the eu can be a serious issue and a little more empathy / helping negotiate would be nice.
After all England would always swing the vote. The same "right of the strongest" attitude which causes issues in the eu too isn't the answer if you want people to be proud to be part of the UK, rather than just putting up with it.

I believe we were warned about most of this...
It's annoying the EU makes this so hard (and may they shouldn't) but then again...who doesn't! Thinking you can just leave your mates to get better mates except now you are johnny mateless comes to mind :p
