any one in particular that's tester approved?
All the generic ones are about the same, surprisingly good and as good as you need for most bicycle stuff. Whatever is on offer in your favourite shop is fine. Mine looks a lot like this, apart from being 200mm for reasons connecting with my use of Zipp VumaChrono cranks, 150mm is sufficient for normal people.
If you want to measure accurately, you need a micrometer, of which the #tester_approved 0-25mm variant is a Mitutoyo 102-707, but that's way more tool that you need for bike stuff.

I bought the pair "Dura Ace 7700" on Ebay about six months ago, but hadn't got around to trying them until now, only to find that both don't shift properly.
Spray some GT85 inside, they're sometime sticky after a while.

Ha, we'll see... It's doing well though, handles surprisingly good loaded up (must be the 27" fork...)
@jambon tough first day from europort to zeeberg camping Amsterdam, long flat and hot. Amy hasn't been doing much riding and 65 miles was a bit of a stretch. Chill day in the dam tomorrow though before heading north to the inner see.

Awesome, sounds like hard work but must be satisfying. How are you and Amy finding it riding with the extra weight? Enjoy the chill time too.

Pagin @mdcc_tester
My system Ex hubs are long overdue a bearin replacement. From what I can find online I need a set of 6000 series 10x26x8Is that right? And is eBay the best place to buy?

The GT is handling really well, good weight distribution. I've got the balance right with what we're carrying too, enough to be comfortable but nothing unnecessary (well, almost).
Amy is finding it hard to manoeuvre her bike at slow speed with the weight but whilst moving she's OK. I had a quick go on her Smithfield and it felt great, quite envious, really solid but still feels lively. Glad that @Sparky recommended the Genesis as its been a great buy.

It's been a long year but it's finally finished. Some minor tweaks to the handlebar position and road pedals to be added. Dreadful weather today so first proper ride needs to be postponed.

Now waiting on a 6800 group to arrive, dig out some spacers, different stem probably, and see if I've a spare black seatpost.
