Slightly different but I put up some steel racks in my kitchen to get the most used pits and pans out of the cupboards as I haven't got that much storage space.
Possible alternative if you've only got a wall, then you could have some shelves at a lower level, or use more hooks to hang them from, though depends how many mugs you have.
I put some shelves up next to mine for glasses and mugs.. -
Kitchens. Want some open shelves/pot racks etc for a wall in ours. Who's got what?
We used some old 22mm copper pipe (free) and munsen rings (£not very much) we had left over from the plumbing to make rails, then got a pack of S hooks (about £3 from Screwfix/Toolstation). We hang our pans from the ceiling (on a boat, low ceiling) but would work on the wall too.

Was looking at these:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00315887/
or
http://www.johnlewis.com/hahn-premium-square-wall-rack-black-metal/p231712787
The first would be good for coffee pots/pullout drawers etc but not in stock anywhere except Gateshead and that seems a bit of a stretch.
The latter looks like it'd survive all the abuse I could throw at it but less practical for twee small things like coffee pots/cups.
There's this:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/series/08006/ but it looks a bit cheap flimsy.
Any suggestions on where else to look?
