  • Teresa Villiers has resigned. What's the word on the streets?

  • I would like to think it was her f-witted response to the simple question about the Hard border once GB&NI leaves the EU.

NI has always been the punishment Office, so perhaps Mrs May has someone in mind?

  • was this here already?
A map of all the countries Boris Johnson has offended

  • If competence came into play Bojo would be kicked out too...

I wonder what arsehole we are going to get now. Resurrect Mo Mowlan and give her a battleaxe please.

  • Why is the UK not red on that map? :p

  • Boris is all good with the Zimbabwean, Ndeipi muface!

  • So Leadsom goes from energy to environment. I'm sure the frackers will be over the moon with that appointment.

  • Boris, have you a blue passport?

    The update which is interesting:

UPDATE 13th July 2016: Although Boris Johnson dropped out of the Conservative leadership campaign, which was then followed by a thinly-sourced piece saying he was still a US citizen, his appointment today as Foreign Secretary by Theresa May means that he has taken up a position considered inherently expatriating according to the published guidance of the US Department of State:

Certain policy level positions are inherently incompatible with retaining U.S. nationality. Cases of this nature generally involve heads of state or foreign ministers.

It’ll be up to State to declare whether Boris Johnson has thereby expatriated himself (and the question remains of whether he then becomes liable for the expatriation tax) but that’s certainly one way to give up your US citizenship without all the usual messy paperwork.

Yay, another incompetent wazzock for NI secretary of state.

  • What did Johnson say about Canada? In this case I'm sure it was correct, but curious.

  • he said it was an amazing place, chock full of people who agree with him on a wide variety of issues.

  • We hate it when people say that.

  • he also said tim hortons was shit. and poutine isn't as good as curry sauce on chips.

  • I disagree with the Turkey bit, calling Erdogan a wanker doesn't equal offending the whole of Turkey.

  • Colleague told me Johnson had given up his US citizenship earlier to avoid the IRS taking their cut of a London property deal.

  • Overall I've always liked David². Particularly as he's had the courage of his conviction.

But yes, for such a strong libitarian it seems strange to not support LGBT rights. I don't think capital punishment is necessarily anti-libitarian though.

  • He's going to be in a fight with May if she keeps going down this wanting to watch all computer traffic path..

I'm baffled how anyone with half a brain can support capital punishment after all the issues in the USA. "ow we made a mistake, wasn't him/her, well here's an extra nice gravestone" :P

He'll have fun in NI with our manic "themmuns" politicians. Maybe he will listen to social issues too, Villiers was a safety glass hammer when it came to that.

  • Tim Horton's is shit. Fact.

  • FACT! surely? ;)

    What makes him shit?

  • coffee. goes right through him.

  • I guess the argument runs that with advances in DNA technology there are cases where you can say with certainty that the crime was committed.

Regardless of a miscarriage of justice you can still hold the view that on principle there are some crimes that are so serious that to protect society and give society a sense of retribution / justice, capital punishment is the only just solution.

But yes, I agree that regardless of any moral or political position the simple fact that the state does gets it wrong as well as not applying the rules equally basically makes it a non-starter as a serious element of justice policy.

  • Hockey player who set up a chain of shops selling piss weak coffee and boring sandwiches.

Good hockey player but the coffee is unforgivable.

  • The coffee is fucking rank. But Canadians have some sort of nationalist investment in it. It's weird.

There used to be a Spar in Soho that sold Tim Horton's coffee.

  • Shit coffee is on my top sins list. Hard to forgive that one :P
