Sure, the stem could be dropped half a Scoblebrick, mine are all at 2 on the LFGSS measurement of choice, but why would you if this fits you better? As it is, the stem is hardly an eyesore and is no further out of the frame than many bikes of this era were ridden originally, slamdatstem as a default position is a recent (ok, I'm ancient) development.
You also have the absolute right to be utterly wrong about Campag, although any modern kit works better than the old stuff.
Just ride the bloody thing!
