  • There's a Skoda in Derby decked out with Pussy Wagon decals. My mum threw a half-eaten gluten-free Bakewell tart at it when she saw it.

    Don't be that guy.

  • pushy is more acceptable

  • +1 for pussy wagon

  • Buck was a rapist, but your call OP.

  • True, I'll have a think and maybe just stick with flames round the rear wheel

  • So in hindsight perhaps trying to emulate the car of a rapist was not my smartest move. I am however going to try and emulate the aesthetic of a hot wheels toy car or a hotrod kinda thing

  • Having the same decal as a rapist wont make you one. (hopefully)
But this will look rad with flame decals.
    And radder with risers.

  • Update - Disc has been sorted and brakes have been cabled up too
Still on the hunt for a chainset and front changer
Managed to find some red outer cabling at work which fits the theme
Will take pictures soon/after the rain stops

Having sat on this I'm thinking I might possibly need to have a @Gaston style reversed seatpost to be able to get a decent aero position

  • Just remembered I own these

Which will be perfect - only problem that I've had with these in the past is that the sole is very curved, so needs to be used with a pair of vintage pedals
I'm thinking something like this, but I'm sure they'll be expensive
However does anyone have a cheaper (but still red) suggestion?

  • I think I have a pair of those at my dads in the parts box. Won't be there for another two weeks but if you still need them you can have em for a tenner.

  • Update: I glued the tub today and set up the rear gear
    I got a crankset thanks to @jpb

The gear cables are a but rubbish and limit the steering somewhat but I can't see any other way to route them
This is it in it's current form

After I took these I stuck some pedals in and set the position up and put the seat down a couple of cm - which shortened the position a bit too
All I need is pedals, front mech and tape (which is in the post)

@haveo is also kindly lending me his Mavic 3G for the front - hopefully I'll stick the tub in this tomorrow and be able to ride it on sunday - photos will follow

  • Cranks are a nice fit - glad they've gone on such a killer build

  • Finally got it built up today - had an inaugural spin at regent's. It feels good, though the position might be a bit stretched out - I rode it there with a huge grin on my face

    So I have three options
    1) New shorter stem (hard to find inch/26.0 stem)
    2) Get an inch to inch and an eighth spacer and use modern stem
    3) Chop the base bars down a bit

Also hopefully I'll be able to stick the tub on the trispoke tomorrow and give it a ride
