Was all set to build the wheel today. As I got everything ready, I discovered that the black spokes I bought have been supplied with silver nipples. The current wheels have black nipples.

Right, little bit more progress. Wheel built, tyre fitted and matching Rohloff-specific Hope rotor installed.

Pair of Ergon GS1 ordered.

A matching DT skewer ordered too.

Rohloff dropout from Paragon Machineworks is on the way.

It hasn't caused the 4" concrete base of the shed to break, so it's acceptable.

Looks like the shifter cables will sit ok with the brake, so no extra braze-ons required on the chainstay.

Still need some on the down tube though, so the bike will soon be off to Matt, for some more torch action and a fresh paint scheme.

I guess a permanent migraine would be a small price to pay...

Much approval for use of 2X on a large diameter hub and 14g spokes for Rohloff.
