Ritchie who's usually found in Brixton Halfords carpark on Saturdays is my go to man for electrical stuff. Chopped out a load of excess wiring on my B &M Luxos then soldiered it all up again on the spot. Cheap too.

I want a 'go to electrical guy'. No fair!
Anyone out west London like playing with wires? Actually I'll see how I go with some proper strippers first.

The SP plastic connector is a much better design than the Son set up., where theres a real risk dewiring the spade connectors. Worth carrying a spare plastic connector though.

I'm so clever. I bought three of them.
Of course the first time I took the wheel out (see disc brake thread) I forgot about the connector. It did just unclip which is nice but I'm sure my wires won't hang on long.

Good idea for another spare. Where please?

Bling!
If in doubt, get the credit card out. -

I hardly ever remember to unclip the connector and they've survived 3 years of it so far, not broken the wire yet...

I've got the hard flat connectors, and also always forget about them. Still works fine, they manage to disconnect on their own accord when needed and never at any other time.

PM me I'll send you one.

Mine are only hanging in there by a thread.
The fucking shrinky shit I put on before connecting the fucker wires was too fucking small so I've had to use electrical tape. Still, it works.

Is there anywhere else to see bikes/builds of the TCR? I find it fascinating how different riders take different approaches to equipment selection.

I need to lose some stuff out work out how to repack it somehow. Frame bag, saddle bag, top tube bag and most space is taken up. Haven't got sleeping bag packed, or shorts and not much food and it's heavy as fuck and basically full.
Hmm. Might have to do stuff like tape tubes to frame.

What's it full of? Beers?!
-
• #2044
No beer yet!!!
Nope, jacket, 2 tubes, bivvy, silk liner, down jacket, buff, long gloves, cap, um, frame bag has tools, some food, USB charger, chamois cream, sunscreen, err, I forget.

Yes, I found that after my first dry run: had to keep my leg warmers on all day as I had no space to put them in. My solution was to dump some kit (car sunshade sleeping mat) and add the second bar bag.

The only dogs you really have to worry about are the ones that run at you without barking. Those evil fuckers are conserving all their energy to biting you to shreds. Be very wary of packs too, they try and outdo each other. Plastic whistle is supposed to help.

Bin off the silk liner, wear your down jacket in your sleeping bag if you are cold. Use a strapped compression strap bag to reduce down jacket to tiny.

Well done! If you get chance I'd probably re-tape up the inside of the fork, less chance of it accidentally catching on anything etc. As long as it works though!

PHD jackets compress to nothing, a compression bags is just faff and weight, no gain over a 1L dry bag rolled down. Rain jacket is probably bulkier?

Toothpaste. Don't forget toothpaste (and a brush). Cleaning your mouth will be worth many bonus morale points.
I've also ordered one off ebay. £5 for a professional stripper! Bargain
