I loved wearing my Max Bill chrono on 4th 14th and 24th of the month
I always planned to get a Chronoscope with the numerals for that 4, but got a deal I couldn't pass on the numeral-less Chronoscope. I was torn as I prefer the clean dial, but dat 4. I've found though that like you say, I actually get more enjoyment from it as I look forward to days with a 4 in them.
I have the exact same experience with my GMT on 6th, 9th, 16th, 19th, 26th and 29th because of the lovely open 6 and 9 on the date wheel. The Rolex takes it a step further since the full width 6 and 9 are nicer than the smaller ones, making 6th and 9th even better than the 2-digit days.

Oooh that's nice. Yeah, just tan suede would be bang on. Would the inner surface just be undyed regular leather and roughly the same colour?
Also, long term care... How do you avoid the mankiness? You can put a nato in the kettle but suede is, er, less forgiving.

I always double over my starps, so it's the same underneath as on top.
it'll get a bit manky underneath after a while, but, suede brush every couple weeks / months might prevent it. -

Plus nylon doesn't breath. So it might stay fresher longer.

Sweet. Yeah, a five year old nato does look/smell like a bit of a contagion. You still using those nice beefy buckles?
