Look like there's enough room for 650b and mudguard!

^^ With the stem that low why the extended head tube?
-
• #2329
So the stem's that low.
Long story short - less flex.

Why have you got an inline seatpost and the saddle jammed forwards? Is your bike too big?

strong

If they were that worried about flex on a stem they would've gotten an ahead-type set up.

SMP saddles, they need it far forward dude, original Brooks saddle used to have layback.

So, I'm going for 50mm Gilles Berthoud, long version, £40 from sjs cycles as no correct size at PX.

This is the scobles approved option?
Might add a Brooks leather mudguard flap to match saddle and bar tape.

Excuse the terrible picture. If it gives too little information, I'll take a new one.
Is this setup going to cause trouble with mudguards, say SKS Chromoplastics? Do mudguards generally float on top of the wheels so to say, or do they also wrap around the tyre to some degree? Depends on the mudguards most likely?
These tyres are 2.1". Might 2.0" leave enough room or do I probably need to go even smaller?

Get mudguards.
See if they fit.
If not, cut bits out where you need to.
I'd rather have the tyres I want than worry about a few cutouts.

• #2338
I'd say go even smaller than 2".

Need smaller, it may clear, but wheel/tyres flex mean there'll be some rubbing.

i have a Kinesis RC i'd like to fit guards to with 25c tyres. Clearances pictured below with 23c on. no chance of getting full guards on. I was wondering wether i could squeeze a pair of race blade longs or preferably a pair of Giant guards if i can find a way to attach them. Any opinions?

I have 45mm PDWs on a more practical bike- great guards but ££. These will be for a slightly ratty build so unless I can find a 2nd hand pair I'll struggle to justify the cost

I have a set of crud catchers which I've given up trying to fit to my Lynskey. Let me know if you want them, I'd be happy to pass them on for a couple of beers or something. I think you'd get them on with that clearance.

Thanks for the offer- where abouts are you based? I'm in Manchester, so beers be be a challenge if you're down South...

Ah right; I'm in London. Postage is a possibility, I guess.

My front longboard snapped on the commute home tonight. I noticed the flap was wobbling a bit, then as I rode through a junction it went completely, but it wasn't the flap coming off, a bit of the mudguard the flap attaches to snapped off, so it's all uneven. Wouldn't want to just stick an aftermarket flap on it.
Worth trying to warranty return them? I've had them since... February or March. Or just suck it up and buy a new one?

Had that problem too. Just too much plastic and not enough reinforcement.^^
