  • Steerer is uncut currently, that'll happen after I ride it for a bit.

  • Paid for it at lunch (ouch!) will pick it up after work.

  • First foray into roadbiking

  • Strong start!

  • fork doesnt fade into frame - 2/7 would not ride

  • Bang on job. This a 58?

  • very good, lfgss has taught you well

  • Yeah. Including the inappropriate inline post and the Cannondale disapproved stack above stem...

  • I rode with stack above the stem for 3 years, will be fine. Rad bike.

  • Sure - most are fine ignoring the safety warnings in the manual.

If it turns out you are not fine, you'd feel pretty silly, I'd imagine.

Anyhoo - just providing a counterweight to the curious levels of gushing over what appears to be a tidy but unremarkable build to my eyes.

  • Gushing is a bit strong.

  • Sigh OK then it's rad despite seatpost, steerer violation, MTB pedals

Probably even has a 24mm converter in it...grumble grumble

  • Steerer will be cut when I've settled in on the height to be.

Yeah, the mtb ones are on there until I can find a pair of road shoes in UK 9. Also looking for a pair of used, but good condition, 105 5800 pedals.

Getting the SI bung in a few days.

Ritchey WSC post is going on there as well.

    It's getting there slowly.

  • Yes it is.

    Rides great!

  • Meh, most road bikes are frankly boring. Every time I get asked by a freaked out user if they can change to 'Shimano' over creaking BB30, 'Howard' comes to mind.

  • I quite like my CAAD12, having now ridden it (home).

  • You make it sound like the creakers are queuing up to complain.

    How many do you get?

  • No creaking:

Great price for DA and Magic (coda) cranks.

  • Enough to get boring. The worst part is the panic (they almost always mention bikeradar) that their bikes will explode whilst they're riding them and end up being covered in shit falling off a cliff.

I like the design, but could maybe do with an O ringed euro version to seal it a bit more.
Also, give a stern talking to whomever assembles them in the factory. Bone dry.

  • Also, give a stern talking to whomever assembles them in the factory. Bone dry.

Apparently a big batch of Habbits went out of the factory with dry pivot bearings and BBs.

In this case the assembly is so bad it wrecks the rear swingarm. So yea, you could end up going off a cliff, on fire, in to a big poo

They need to sort their QC - at this rate I don't understand how they can last.

  • My CAAD12 frame had to be drilled to allow the Di2 cables through - I had thought that this model was a single, cable or Di2 affair - did I make a massive error?

  • Where does it need to be drilled? The CAAD12 are internally routed, wherever a cable go through, wire can also.

Is there's no port on the front derailleur? Haven't look at that, going to tomorrow at work.

  • Internal cable runs would not admit Di2 wiring
