Shimano 7800 chainset bottom bracket compatibility

Do I need to buy a 7800 specific bottom bracket or can I buy other bottom brackets to fit the chainset?

It seems online that any shimano external bb will be compatible with the chainset.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I know next to nothing about "modern" bb.

Any Shimano road HT2 bottom bracket will fit. The mtb ones are a different width.
