  • CSG sold out because Evans brought all the CAAD12 from them, and I mean all.

You might not see new bike until winter, or 2017, Cannondale unsurprisingly take longer.

  • Disc

  • bum deal, thanks for the heads up

  • Pinnacle Dolomite 5 come to mind, especially the hydraulic one.

Not the most amazing bike, but does the job as a winter bike better than another Ribble Audax.

  • More expensive, heavier (but cooler) Ritchey Road Logic or lighter cheaper (but less cool) Trek Emonda ALR?

My other bike is a Surly Straggler. I won't be racing on the new bike but I want a faster more exciting road bike for weekend rides.

CAAD12 would have also been an option if they weren't sold out at the disro.

  • Any road bike will feel lighting fast compare to your Straggler, like this Specialized Allez SL Comp;

Trek Emonda ALR is a cracking bike to ride too.

  • Planet X London Road? Standard builds come with SRAM (I've got the Rival 11 disc which I really like) but you could build up a frame.

  • Mmm yeah an option. Or Pinaccle Arkose. @edscoble Dolomite only has clearance for 25c with guards? What is this, 2009?

  • Domane ALR, 28C and mudguards and direct mount brakes. There is one in action bikes if you want to have a look.

  • CAAD12 would have also been an option if they weren't sold out at the disro.

    Get one from Germany?

Makes warranty stuff a bit of a 'mare tho

  • Wrong. I've ridden 27c Pave's on skinny and wide rims with guards on a Dolomite.

  • I can get Cannondale for cheaps from CSG so am reluctant to not take advantage of the deal.

  • I'd get Trek or Ritchey.

  • Evans doing 15% off Cannondale range

  • The disc model is different tho, fork is big enough for 25mm and mudguard, but 28mm might be a squeeze.

Your i recall was a rim brakes model with long reach calliper a.

  • Yeah true, didn't realise the clearance had got smaller. Shocking....

  • Different fork, a very nice looking fork with integrated cable routing but still tiny.

  • Try the arkose, clearance for 40c tyres. Not light tough

  • I was out last night on a fast hilly 30 with a carbon gang and my Logic kept up. Proof enuff. Srsly though with a decent build, it isn't heavy and it never feels that weighty climbing, I've only got budget wheels. And I felt smugly superior to their identikit crabon, although Genesis one was quite pleasant.

  • I think I'm swaying towards the Road Logic. I'll need to save up for a bit longer but like you said it's nice to have something different.

  • Definitely go for that, weight is moot as long the bike feel fast.

  • Any reason why to have a giant defy 0 or caad8 than the dolan suggest above? Need a reason

    Defy 0 with ultegra 105 799.20
    Caad8 105 for 649
Dolan preffiso built to spec inc 105 pedals gatorskins 28c 744

  • Defy sound like better value for money.

Take them both out for a test ride.

  • I have the Defy disc 1, not ridden either of the other two, can recommend it for all day comfort, you can also get 28mm tyres in it.

  • Yh think i might have too. Just need to factor in costs of guards. Will evans price match?
