Cav was cut off about 400m from the line - never competed. Griepel was right up there but guess he just didn't have the legs. Sagan did the usual - was there or thereabouts but didn't really compete

He came third. Pretty impressive for someone who's not a pure sprinter!

You could really feel the pain in their legs, that was quite a ramp to be giving it all the power. Impressed by Kittel there actually... thought it was a Sags sort of a finish.

True. The mind boggles as to how he manages to time it so well every time, yet never really look like winning.

Looking at the provisional GC I've just seen the answer to this is a pretty big yes - Cav listed as 10th, nearly 2 minutes down on boak Valverde

Shame for Coquard. Just can't warm to Kittel, he's just too Germanic and beautiful.
-
• #309
Coquard's sprint was pretty much the ugliest thing I've seen on a bike.

Worse than Degenkolb's mad chicken on crack?

Superb photo. By Simon Gill I think?
Also good to see Dan McLay (he's the last fully visible rider on the left) up there again, three top tens in the your first four Tour stages is good going.

^ Nailed it.
Should have included a link to the tweet I nicked it from. https://twitter.com/cycling_podcast/status/750365375766945793

I'd coquard had used a 32c front tyre he would have crossed the line first.

this pictures really calls for a caption contest, I'll start:
I can pay you, maybe double of Sagan?
-
• #318
Nah, the scoble approved 650b wheel would negate the extra tyre circumference.

Well, Chris Anker Sørensen is back in the Tour this year, so prepare for something worse...
-
• #320
Is tomorrow when Chris Froome goes fucking mental on the first uphill bit like in every year when Sky are at the TDF and everyone goes "doping!"
-
• #321
I'm not saying, I'm just saying, you know.

Will Sky want yellow? Or prefer Valverde to get it and have Movistar do the work for a few days? I bet both teams would like to test Contador out though while he might still be off key.
-
• #323
Alaphilippe would be a good bet too.
-
• #324
'High cadence' followed by 'asphyxiate' is a set-up I don't want to experience this year
-
• #325
doubt it, Sky only knows how to do one thing.. Get yellow, control every attack, get a snack for Froome
Will be interesting to see if splits caused an GC grief.
