Cav was cut off about 400m from the line - never competed. Griepel was right up there but guess he just didn't have the legs. Sagan did the usual - was there or thereabouts but didn't really compete

He came third. Pretty impressive for someone who's not a pure sprinter!

You could really feel the pain in their legs, that was quite a ramp to be giving it all the power. Impressed by Kittel there actually... thought it was a Sags sort of a finish.

True. The mind boggles as to how he manages to time it so well every time, yet never really look like winning.

Looking at the provisional GC I've just seen the answer to this is a pretty big yes - Cav listed as 10th, nearly 2 minutes down on boak Valverde

Shame for Coquard. Just can't warm to Kittel, he's just too Germanic and beautiful.

Coquard's sprint was pretty much the ugliest thing I've seen on a bike.

I'd coquard had used a 32c front tyre he would have crossed the line first.
