I know nothing about welding, engineering etc BUT
What if the seat tube was made as tall as the tubing permits, and then an integrated seatpost cap was made, similar to the Fuji Track Pro seatpost.
Guessing that this would push costs etc (if it's even possible) but could be interesting.
