How much should a mixed 4 pack be now?
-
• #603
£13.20: 40% off £22
-
• #604
For those of you not too squeamish about 'expiry' dates (or flavours!)...
-
• #605
Just ordered 6 tubes from nuun at 40% off and now seen this. Don't mind the flavour, what's the worst that can happen from drinking 'expired' tablets?
-
• #606
Not the best flavour but yes pls
-
• #607
They're also caffeinated if that makes a difference, pro or con.
-
• #608
High 5 tubes in Lidl for £2.99
-
• #609
Both pro and con really depending.
Had them before.
They taste ok at 1 tab per bottle, 2 tabs makes it a bit chemically.

Have the prices on the nuun website gone up? I'm sure they were cheaper when I looked last week.
-
• #611
What are folk using instead of Nuun?
High5 is just sugar junk
SIS gives me bad guts -
• #612
What happened to Nuun? Why no longer available?

High-5 and SiS both do hydration stuff with little/no calories.
High-5 Zero tablets: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/high5-zero-electrolyte-drink-20-tabs/
SiS have the 'Go Electrolyte' powder (in a tub): http://www.wiggle.co.uk/science-in-sport-go-electrolyte-16kg/
or 'Hydro' tablets: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/science-in-sport-go-hydro-tablets-20-tabs/
[EDIT] You can make tubs of electrolyte powder yourself for very cheap by just buying the various salts. It's a lot harder to make the tablets yourself and they're the ones that are useful for longer rides where you get through more water than you can carry on the bike. If you just make up two bottles of electrolyte water before going out on a ride then it's much easier to make the powder up yourself and save a wodge (that 26 quid 1.6kg tub can be made for under 2 quid).

What happened to Nuun? Why no longer available?
http://www.nuun.co.uk/pages/goodbye
tl;dr Bloke started company, built up company but eventually ousted by the board, moved to UK and continued on as UK distributor, US company decided to do it all themselves so he can't sell any more in the UK and it'll be a while until the US company sorts out distribution in the UK

Thanks! That's a sad tale. I wish him well in his new cannabis distribution role. Seems a shame (and commercially daft) that Nuun is at least temporarily unavailable given the widespread love for it.

Chatting to my bro in law this weekend, turns out Mr Nuun is his best pal from Uni.
Anyway, UK distribution deal now sorted. Nuun.co.uk webshop is back up and selling.

If the new UK Nuun similar to the old UK Nuun, or more like the US Nuun?
They were noticeably different in size, formulation, etc... a bit like how Benadryl differs from UK to US.

This is interesting.
I moved to SiS. Which I found to be the best of the rest. Necter are good too. Maybe better. But I dont find them on offer so much, and I tend to buy bulk. I did prefer nuun though.
They seem to be big on salt in the US. I Guess thats more the warmer sweaty areas. As this is the exact opposite of my situation. I'd be interested to compare the sodium content.

That's basically why I went Nuun in the first place. Little to no salt, no carbs, no caffeine (in most of their range), just the core electrolytes and a little flavouring.
If they keep that I'll still buy it. I thankfully stocked up and still have a few tubes left, but when they're done I'll get to see whether the new Nuun is the same as the old Nuun.

Definitely Worth checking the content.
I just assumed hydration tabs are much of a muchness. But they vary massively. If you're happy With powder. Skratch labs make the absolute best stuff. Tastes amazing.

I like Skratch but wish they did the "daily" version over here rather than just the sugar filled version. The little chew sweets are delicious.

Comments about new/US nuun don't sound so positive... https://nuun.com/blog/introducing-new-nuun-active-energy

That's what I feared.
I used the US Nuun whilst in SF and it was terrible. Larger tabs, added sweetener and caffeine... attempts to be more like a sports thing rather than a natural everyday thing.
The Skratch looks really good, the every day one. Looks like I'll have to order it in though or speak to Wiggle about getting them to add it to their range (at least they do some of the other Skratch products).

I think Silverfish are the UK distributor for Skratch if you have a contact there. I know my LBS has been trying to get them to bring the cookie dough stuff over to try, not sure where they got to with that.
i contacted nuun this morning as the prices had not yet been reduced to the 40% off in april. they have now made the change to the prices
