Maybe get someone to set up brakes for you next time?
-
• #7253
didnt you switch to compass because paul were too 'flexy'?
-
• #7254
Yes, because they were too flexy, not because they're not Dura Ace.

• #7255
same thing

I rode the Preffisio with no problems fit wise
-
• #7257
Awesome. I think i may explore this option now.
-
• #7258
Yus, I'm pretty sure you don't need long drops on a Ribble / Preffisio.
-
• #7260
Yeah - the irony that one of the less pricey frames is the most versatile. Here in dry weather gravel setup with 32c.

I have experience with fitting 35c Kojaks on the Preffisio - it can be done with a worn Kojak, but not a fresh one (and only on dry clean asfalt - which kinda defeat the purpose of Kojaks...).

oof .. with rival brakes? Where does the pad sit? Right at the bottom?
-
• #7264
Yeah, thats look quite good actually. Looking at the shimano, on the tyre option, biggest is 28s with mudguard selected too. Think this will make a good rounder before I add a second bike
-
• #7265
With rival brakes at the bottom, exactly.

Any known stockists of dolan in london? Lancashire seems a tad far for me
-
• #7267
I don't think they sell through other retailers?
-
• #7268
As I thought when I looked on their website. Guess a call is to be made.
-
• #7269
Which one looks nicer?
-
• #7270
keep the younger one- it'll crack at the welds further into the future than the old one, probably.
-
• #7271
Both got straight steerer? Or the modern one is tapered?
Modern every time.

What aluminium bike has a 105 disc groupset and clearance for 30mm tyres with mudguards? Thinking winter bike.
-
• #7274
Inflite.

Disc or rim?
Dolan at a good price plus they do c2w. £725 for 105 commuter give or take. Not bad. Anything to look out when sizing up and doing a fit?
