So, I have the opportunity to take an Ultegra Di2 groupset off of a mate, but I would be looking to add it to A 2015 Synapse Carbon, currently running whatever is the entry level FSA, (Boatanchor is my guess for range name) chainset.
Has anyone used one of the adaptors/BBs to allow Ultegra to run on BB30A, like the one made by Kogel Bearings? If so, thoughts?

Dafuq, those kogels are expensive!
I used wheels mfg for my red gxp cranks to fit to bb30 and it only cost me £30. -

Does anyone know if the SI chainset is available separately?

don't think they work with BB30A ?

You can buy retail boxed Si chainsets, yes.
See the discussion about the possibility of that frame requiring a special axle, tho

I've got one of these

hows the wheels mfg working for you? gotta CAAD10 on the way and not sure whether it's worth taking the plunge with a full praxis bb. Haven't heard any bad things about the wheels mfg shims...

Wheels Mfg is what I usually recommend to customer, can't go wrong with it.

Had my wheels mfg for a good 2 years now, no problems with it. All I did was one year in I popped the adapters out to clean out grit with a q-tip and popped the bearing shields off to check grease levels. All fine and dandy.

Tbh the only reason I pulled the adapters off one year in was because I heard a faint click - low and behold there was a little bit of sand behind the adapters. Other than that very much a set and forget affair, as long as the BB30 bearings are installed properly and you have a good BB shell you're laughing.

Exactly, also make sure it's the right adaptor (like FSA to Shimano), which was a common mistake.
it's great because you're taking advantage of the larger bearing despite the smaller spindle.

Doing C2C in 2 weeks, dragging 96kg + bike up 'proper' hills isn't going to work with a 53/36 11-28 combo. CAAD 12 Ultegra Disc.
Do you think i could sneak a 32 in the back without new derailleur(new chain obvs)? Just be careful crossing the chain? It'll be taken off after 2 days of riding and back to the current so don't want to change unless absolutely necessary. Front SpideRing change is not an option ££££...

Doubt the ultegra rear derailure will take a 32t sprocket - chain capacity is not your problem here.

I have a long cage Ultegra rear mech you can borrow- will need jockey wheels though. The mech is brand new, I robbed the jockey wheels for the short cage mech on my Serotta.

Considering a CAAD12 rim brake version......anyone got any feedback on any bottom bracket issues that BB30 had? All resolved?

Ive had no problems of creaking so far on my CAAD12. Cannondale Hollogram cranks, installed by a good mechanic..
We'll know who came first- Gary Klein. But we came next!
