I side with @hoops on this, the fact it's a tandem on top of a custom is always going to take a while, and most especially since this is his first foray in building a tandem.>
Look, frame builder knows best. They're the professionals after all. Aren't we all.
You tell me that it will take 4 months, I believe you. Tell me you'll be finishing it this month, I believe you. At some point when none of the stuff that you're told pans out, and in the midst of this going on, you have another bike built and when received, it isn't up to scratch, you loose faith in what's going on.
Tell me it's gong to take 18 months from the outset, then that's OK.
