A 1983 merc 230e, no rust with W124 engine swap and only 30,000ks since reco engine installed, reconditioned auto but leaky steering box. Good idea or bad?

Good idea. I had an 83 230E for a while and loved it. Thistle green with tan it was. Lovely. I cut the springs in half and it still rode all wafty and nice.

Interesting. Chopped springs, such class ;)

Currently oscillating between the merc and a Volvo 240 wagon. Need a cruiser for throwing surfboards and bikes in so might end up with a brick.
