  • I've spent a lot of time with mjutooose and this is very weird. I've never had it it default to close focus. If there are focus issues it's usually that it misses the fore/mid-ground subject (focusses on the background/infinity instead).

    The active af is still pretty ok at night, in gigs, caves, tents and other dark places. The passive systems on more modern compact digitals cameras are no better IME.

    Is there a case, strap or finger getting in the way of the IR window near the viewfinder?

    I love the portrait at the end of your 1st post. The good shots are ... really good.

    Yeah I had a quick search online and couldn't see anyone with the same problem. I'll be careful to check that I'm not covering the IR window but I don't think that's the problem.

    Yeah, if the pictures weren't so good I'd retire it but I'm feeling its worth the risk... Might just stick to using budget film with it.
